Sunday Slow Cooker: Sesame Beef



Tender slices of beef slow-cooked in a savory-sweet sesame sauce, this Sesame Beef recipe is perfect for a lazy Sunday meal. Let the flavors meld together as it simmers in the slow cooker, resulting in a deliciously comforting dish that the whole family will love.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast, sliced thinly
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions:

In a slow cooker, combine soy sauce, honey, garlic, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, and red pepper flakes

Add sliced beef and toss to coat evenly

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until beef is tender

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry

Stir the slurry into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking to thicken the sauce

Once done, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving

Serve over rice or noodles
